FRAG is a series of video game tournaments and events primarily focused on the first-person shooter game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). It was founded in 2014 by a group of CS:GO players and fans, some of whom had professional esports experience in the past.
FRAG events typically feature a prize pool, professional and amateur teams competing against each other, and a variety of side activities and attractions for attendees. The events are known for their casual and laid-back atmosphere, as well as their emphasis on community building and fostering positive interactions between players and fans. Overall, FRAG is one of the largest and most popular grassroots esports tournaments in North America.
The release of Counter-Strike 2 created a lot of new interest in FRAG, but it also created more challenges than we have ever had. This sparked a fire in us to go bigger and better than ever. Quickly, we started growing our volunteer staff to help us create some of the most memorable events to date.
FRAG has also seen a resounding community response in terms of our ranked tournaments. While we remain a completely open circuit, the amount of interest from all levels of teams has been astonishing. Everyone from a PUG mix to some of the highest ranked teams in the world are showing up to compete in the greatest open esports circuit that North America has to offer.
